Happy Birthday to Us!
Yes! It’s true – we have reached our FIRST Birthday!
So in style we will be doing something a little extra special at our next meeting on the 15th May.
But to keep it a suprise we are not telling you!
We will also be joined by the amazing Chris Sudworth from The Core, Corby who you may have heard Millie mention once or thrice!
We look forward to seeing you there!

We are delighted to announce that the fabulous Nikky will be joining us -
A few more details….
Nikky is a storyteller that plays with poetry, sound, movement and digital forms. Nikky had the opportunity to collaborate with four South Africa poets including Lebo Mashile and the Poet Laureate, Keorapetse Kgositsile as part of Apples and Snakes tour ‘Beyond Words.’
She was also part of all female spoken word collective Spoken Like A True performing alongside New York artist Queen God Is and Tavi Fields. Nikky has performed and been guest at many open mics including Brewery Arts Centre, Speakeasy@Green Room, Matt n Phreds, The Big Chill, Latitude Festival and Contact Theatre.

Its the 2nd of April, which means its day 2 of the 30 poems in 30 days challenge! The prompt for today was -
‘on the couch’
Millie is on the ball and has already submitted her efforts -
Telly blaring Not caring Stretching out On the couch Oblivious to the world That is passing him by The glorious weather The sun in the sky Curled up tightly in a ball Snoring quietly, he’s okay In fact here he plans to Spend most of his day I wander in hands on hips But in his world, that’s barely a blip Ignoring you, it’s all on his terms Until its affection that he yearns Then he will wake, from his nap And purring loudly as he climbs on your lap. It must be nice to be a cat!
